Around the Sound community band

Do you play an instrument, and wish you had some folks to jam with? Did you play once, long ago, and want to get your skills back up? Or do you just enjoy happy brass band music? You may want to check out the Around the Sound community band here in Shoreline.

Since 1999, members of the Around the Sound band have been meeting to practice and play concerts in the area. They’ve played
the North City Tree Lighting ceremony, holiday concerts at Third Place Books in Lake Forest Park, and at retirement homes, civic celebrations, and parades, and you'll be able to see them performing at the Shoreline City Hall opening coming up on October 10th.

And if you want to play in the band, you'll find it's open to all adults, no audition needed. The band is headed by Michael Alstead,
Executive Director of Music Center of the Northwest, who has been playing the trumpet for over 40 years.

If you're interested in learning more, check out the band's website at AroundTheSound.org.
